Ted Cruz: ‘No indication’ that Iran was ‘close to getting nuclear weapons’

Sen. Ted Cruz said there was no indication that Tehran was close to obtaining nuclear weapons following U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in June.

Cruz argued that the intelligence and assessments available did not show Iran nearing a nuclear breakout, despite the targeted actions.

He emphasized that the strikes were intended to disrupt Iran’s nuclear capabilities and deter further escalation, while maintaining that Iran was not on the verge of weaponization.
